#YouTubers
[EN] #YouTubers is my latests series of online digital poems. A subcategory of my #SELFIEPOETRY, these works explore early YouTube confessional videos and today’s influencers’ speech, considering the corporate video giant in terms of web visibility and discourse. They live in YouTube.
[The poem “Bio Data Matter” was first performed at Neural Nets, in Berkeley, April 2018. The poem “Ashes to Ashes #YOLO” was part of blueOrange Performance Evening, in Montreal, August 2018, and it was featured in the exhibition Caracteres, at the Instituto Cervantes in New York City, April-May 2023. The poem/essay “As We May Think” was performed at Natural Language, at the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago, January 2019]

AS WE MAY THINK (2018) by Alex Saum
“As We May Think” is a video-essay as much as it is a poem. I wrote about it in the volume Fobias – Fonias – Fagias. Escritas Experimentais e Eletrónicas Ibero-Afro-Latinoamericanas. Claudia Kozak and Rui Torres, Eds. [Coleção Cibertextualidades]. Porto: Publicações Universidade Fernando Pessoa, 2019. FULL TEXT HERE. I also wrote a companion essay that I presented at the Art Institute in Chicago; you can read it HERE.
BIO DATA MATTER (2018) #youTubers by Alex Saum
